The winners of the 16th annual Jimmy Awards® were determined and announced last night in front of a sold-out audience at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway. The coveted Jimmy Awards for Best Performance by an Actress and Best Performance by an Actor were presented to Fabiola Caraballo Quijada, Broadway Dallas High School Musical Theatre Awards (Dallas, TX) and Chris Hayes, Nevada High School Musical Theater Awards (Las Vegas, NV). Each winner was presented with a check in the amount of $25,000 to further their education, presented by Nederlander Producing Company of America, Inc.

The ceremony, hosted by Josh Groban, was also live streamed and will remain available for viewing for the next 72 hours – through Thursday, June 26, 2025 – at www.jimmyawards.com. The Jimmy Awards has been the catalyst for more than $6,000,000 in educational scholarships to date. This year, a total of 16 awards and scholarships were presented to participants.

Six finalists each received a $5,000 scholarship toward their future education, presented by MJ:

  • Dawson Fullingim, Discovery Awards (Tulsa, OK)
  • JJ Korkin, Kravis Center Dream Awards (West Palm Beach, FL)
  • Seger Ott-Rudolph, Brandon Victor Dixon Awards (Washington, DC)
  • Kayla Rae, The Lucie Arnaz Awards (Palm Springs, CA)
  • Kinsley Stephens, Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards - Shuler Hensley Awards (Atlanta, GA)

Additional award winners each received a $2,500 scholarship:

Rising Star for impressive advancement during the Jimmy Awards program

  • Gavin Evanson, The Monte Awards (Tucson, AZ)​​

Best Dancer, presented by The Shubert Organization, for excellence in dance and movement

  • Jamaur Houston, Broadway in Chicago Illinois High School Musical Theatre Awards (Chicago, IL)

Spirit of the Jimmys, presented by Aki Nishino of Chimney Town, for embodying the spirit of this musical theatre celebration:

  • Kevin Wilson, The Patty Duke Awards (Boise, ID)

Outstanding Performance in an Ensemble, co-presented by BOOP! The Musical, Hadestown, John Gore Organization, No Guarantees, and Thomas Schumacher for outstanding collaboration during the Jimmy Awards program :

  • Mira Cahalane, Playhouse Square Dazzle Awards (Cleveland, OH)
  • Josiah D. Jennings, The DPAC Rising Star Awards (Durham, NC)
  • JJ McDonough, Philadelphia Independence Awards (Philadelphia, PA)
  • Kash Stevenson, Henry Mancini Awards (Midland, PA)
  • Jayden Vega, Broadway Star of the Future (Tampa, FL)

The recipients of the 2025 INSPIRING TEACHER AWARD were Elena Ferrante-Martin, Bishop Gorman High School (Las Vegas, NV), andKoKo M. Thornton, Enloe High School (Durham, NC) who were honored for providing valuable guidance and encouragement to their students and school communities. Ferrante-Martin and Thornton were nominated for their recognition last spring by 2024 Jimmy Award nominees.

Julia Knitel and Jasmine Amy Rogers presented Kiesha Lalama, Jimmy Awards choreographer from 2009 to 2024, with an honorary Jimmy Award and introduced the Where Are They Now video. Earlier in the ceremony, Aki Nishino presented the Spirit of the Jimmys Award, and Apollo Levine introduced the Week-in-Review video.

Lin-Manuel Miranda introduced the Feature Group number which consisted of a medley of Broadway songs in the theme of “coming of age” in honor of the Jimmy Awards’ sweet 16 anniversary. The recipients of the INSPIRING TEACHER AWARD, presented in memory of LUIGI CAIOLA, were announced by Josh Groban.

Judges for the 2025 Jimmy Awards included Tony Award®-winning producers, award-winning casting experts, and industry leaders. Montego GloverLaChanze, Joe Machota, Alecia Parker, Marc Platt, Tara RubinNick ScandaliosBernard Telsey,andLia Vollack. Preliminary judges who adjudicated and cast the nominees in the Character and Feature Groups included Kristian CharbonierStephanie Klapper, Sammy Lopez, Kevin Metzger-TimsonDale A. Mott, Cody Renard Richard, and Rachel Sussman.

The annual talent showcase featured over 100 nominees from 55 cities across the country performing on a Broadway stage following an amazing 10 days in New York City where rehearsals and private coaching took place at The Juilliard School. The industry coaches who mentored the nominees were: Jenni Barber, Lisa Brescia, Janet Dacal, Colin Hanlon, Lily Kaufmann, Adam J. Levy, Julia Murney, Desi Oakley, Eliseo RománQ. Smith, Steven Telsey, and EJ Zimmerman.
