The Broadway League officers visit Haiti with the Smithsonian Institution team to inspect the Haitian Cultural Recovery Site

In early July, Broadway League Chairman Paul Libin, Immediate Past-Chair, Nina Lannan and League member Margo Lion, who is also Co-Chair of the Presidents Committee on Arts and Humanities, traveled with Executive Director, Charlotte St. Martin, to Haiti as guests of The President's Committee of the Arts and Humanities and The Smithsonian Institution. During their visit, they inspected the damage caused by the Haitian earthquake on January 12, 2010. They observed firsthand the devastation and destruction on the island nation, beyond what could have been imagined. The group was able to see the Cultural Recovery Site, pictured here. The League is the lead entity in funding this recovery effort, which is currently in the beginning stages of construction.
