LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Jack Eldon is a seasoned leader in the world of theatrical presentation, with a reputation for blending creative vision and strategic acumen. His role as the Vice President of Domestic Touring and Regional Engagements at Disney Theatrical Group places him at the crossroads of artistry and commerce, driving the reach of beloved stage musicals to audiences across North America and beyond. Jack is known for building dynamic partnerships and elevating the standard for promoting live entertainment, and his efforts have shaped the way Disney brings its iconic stories to audiences.

Jack’s responsibilities at Disney Theatrical Group include business oversight of the North American engagements, encompassing all touring and pilot/developmental productions. Over the past 29 years, Jack has worked on the live theatrical productions of The Lion King, Aladdin, Hercules, Frozen, Newsies, Freaky Friday, Shakespeare in Love, Peter and the Starcatcher, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aida, The Jungle Book, High School Musical, and On the Record. More than 42 million guests have attended these productions through the years, resulting in over two billion dollars in sales.

Jack began his career at Disney Theatrical Group in 1996, overseeing the marketing efforts for the original Beauty and the Beast tour, as well as the pre-Broadway tryouts of The Lion King, in Minneapolis (1997), Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida, in Chicago (1999), and Aladdin, in Toronto (2013). He supervised the sales and marketing launch of the tours of The Lion King beginning in 2002; these tours have helped to set the industry standard for how to market and promote blockbuster musicals throughout North America, including Hawaii, Alaska, and Mexico. With his promotion to VP of Touring, in 2006, he began to manage all business aspects of the touring and sit-down productions outside of New York (including the successful engagement of The Lion King in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Theatre). Recently, Jack supervised the launch of the newly revised tour of Beauty and the Beast; this is the first Disney-produced version of the beloved classic in North America in over 25 years.

As part of his duties, he also works with Feld Entertainment, the largest provider of family entertainment in the world, on the North American tours of Disney on Ice and other Disney-branded productions.

Prior to joining Disney, he was the marketing director at the Old Globe Theatre, in San Diego. At Alan Wasser Associates, in New York, he oversaw the marketing of the touring production of The Phantom of the Opera . Before Phantom, Jack worked for various public relations agencies, winning awards for the promotion and/or launch of new products for Rolls-Royce, Lever 2000, Gillette Sensor Excel, Princess Cruises, Krug Champagne, and Purina Dog Food, among other brands. Jack has been a guest speaker at universities and colleges across the country, and he is an active member of the Broadway League, the trade organization for the Broadway industry, having served as a chair and member of the Belonging on Broadway Committee, as well as a member of the Intra-Industry/Presenters Committee.
