The Broadway League supports a year-long apprenticeship program with positions available beginning in mid-September through early August. All apprenticeships are part-time with approximately 24 hours per week in the office; the League does not offer remote or hybrid apprenticeships. Set weekly schedule within business hours will be mutually agreed upon prior to the start date with the department supervisor. Apprentices are paid on an hourly basis.
Apprenticeships at The Broadway League are designed for early career professionals or those changing careers to help them gain valuable experience by working closely with League staff members and, when possible, attending meetings, professional development seminars, networking events, and conferences.

Digital Content
The Digital Department manages the League’s website projects and online initiatives. The Digital Content Apprentice will assist with daily department functions in addition to covering League programs and events such as Broadway Bridges, Broadway Celebrates Juneteenth, and the Jimmy Awards depending on the season. Ideal candidates will have previous experience in digital content creation, social media management, graphic design, copywriting, and/or video editing (Adobe Premiere).

Education and Engagement
The Audience Engagement Department creates and supports Broadway industry education and community engagement programs designed to ensure an audience for live theatre in the future. Apprentices work closely with all members of the department to execute programs and initiatives such as the Jimmy Awards, Broadway Bridges, Broadway Career Exploration Day, Broadway Speakers Bureau, and the annual Education & Engagement Forum. Ideal candidates will have previous experience in arts administration, community outreach, and/or educational programming.

Research
The Research Department is the official hub for all statistical and historical information for Broadway and Touring Broadway. The Research Apprentice will support the department’s work managing the Internet Broadway Database (IBDB.com), administering in-theatre and electronic surveys, producing reports on the demographics of the audience and the economic impact of the industry, compiling gross and attendance data, and producing season statistics. Ideal candidates will have experience in data entry, working with spreadsheets and databases, copy editing, organizing archival materials, and dealing with sensitive information.

Are apprenticeships at The Broadway League paid?
Yes, apprentices are paid $19.00 per hour. Course credit is also available for those interested. Unpaid vacation and time off is available with supervisor approval.
