Broadway League Logo FAQ

How should I use the Broadway League logo?

The Broadway League logo stresses institutional affiliation, and “officialness.”  You may use this mark to indicate that your theatre, production, presenting organization, company, etc. is a member of The Broadway League.  The horizontal version is preferred, but you may use the centered version if better suited to the context.

Can I change or alter the logo?

No. You may not alter the Broadway League logo in any way, or change its color. See the Branding Guidelines pdf for details.

Does the logo have to be in color or black and white?

You may use either the color or black-and-white logo, as appropriate for the context. For the color version, the color is PMS200.

What about non-League and non-Equity productions?

You may not use our mark in conjunction with ANY non-Equity/non-union  production, or with any non-League production -- not in playbills, on house boards, etc.  So, where presenters publish season brochures or purchase print advertisement that promotes a season comprised of only Equity productions produced by League members, you may use the logo.  Where presenters publish brochures or purchase print advertisement that include both Equity and non-Equity, or both League and non-League productions, you may not use the Broadway League logo.

What are my obligations as a presenter? What if I present a show produced by a non-League producer?

A presenter must use the Broadway League logo in its season brochure and in its print advertising if, and only if, its entire season is comprised of shows produced by League producers. If there is a show produced by a non-League producer in your season, the logo cannot be used in the brochure or the print advertising.

What if, as a presenter, we present a non-union show?

You are not permitted to use the Broadway League logo in connection with your presentation of a non-union production. No Broadway League signage may appear at the theatre while a non-union attraction is playing, nor may the Broadway League logo be used in connection with the promotion of a non-union production. If a League producer is producing a show in which the performers are represented by another Union (i.e. AGMA or AGVA), you may use the logo.
