EDUCATORS NIGHT ON BROADWAY returned Wednesday as 500 New York City public school educators attended a performance of Buena Vista Social Club on Broadway at The Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. Made possible through the collaboration of The Broadway League and the United Federation of Teachers (UFT), EDUCATORS NIGHT ON BROADWAY welcomed and honored New York City educators, including teachers, paraprofessionals, social workers, guidance counselors and others, to an evening of live theatre. The event aligns with the conclusion of the Broadway Bridges spring cycle which brought over 12,000 high school students and chaperones to a Broadway show so far in 2026.

“New York educators do essential work every day to help shape the next generation, and we are proud to welcome them to Broadway for a well-deserved evening,” said Jason Laks, president of The Broadway League. “Programs like this reflect the shared value of access to live theatre and the meaningful connection it can create. We are grateful to Buena Vista Social Club and our partners at the United Federation of Teachers for helping make this special night possible.”
“Educators put their students first every single day. We thank The Broadway League and Buena Vista Social Club for recognizing that dedication and celebrating educators with such a special evening,” said Michael Mulgrew, president of the United Federation of Teachers.
Broadway Bridges offers NYC public schools in all five boroughs $10 Broadway tickets for their tenth-grade students. The tickets purchased are based on availability and are timed to coincide with the demands of the school calendar.
As the largest theatre education partnership in the history of New York City, Broadway Bridges has now served 507 New York City public high schools across all five boroughs, with representation from each of the 51 city council districts. To date, nearly 3,000 educators have registered for the program. Last season, 27,090 students and chaperones participated in Broadway Bridges.
Since launching in 2017, the program has introduced over 170,000 New York City public school sophomores and chaperones to Broadway. The program has been so successful in New York that last year Broadway Bridges on the Road was launched, with 30 Broadway League Member organizations currently participating across the country. Participating shows, dates, and times vary based on city. Details on participating programs can be found on the On the Road - Broadway Bridges web page.
